Holy basil, or tulsi, is a perennial herb native to South Asia. It forms a bush growing to a height of approximately 30–60 cm. The fruit of holy basil is four small brown seeds. The herb has green or purplish leaves rich in essential oils that spread a pleasant characteristic aroma.
