Damiana is a small shrub growing throughout Mexico and Central America. The use of damiana dates back to the ancient Mayan civilization, where Spanish missionaries were the first to notice its effects. They observed the use of damiana by Mexican Indian women, who drank a drink sweetened with honey an hour before intercourse.

Damiana is known as a magical herb used in spiritual rituals, probably for its abilityto relieve stress and bring peace of mind. For these properties, it is valued as an herb suitable for relaxation purposes. Turnera diffusa supports sexual health and helps maintain good sexual relationships.
