Our milk rice is a round-grain rice grown in Italy. After cooking, it is soft and slightly sticky and is suitable as a side dish for sauces, rice fillings, casseroles and as a thickener for soups. As the name suggests, we make milk rice from it, mixed desserts and ground it is suitable for preparing porridge.
Basic preparation: Rinse two cups of rice in cold water and add less than two cups of cold water and salt and slowly cook until tender (about 12 minutes).
Milk rice: Cover ¾ cup of rice with 1 ½ cups of cold water and slowly cook under a lid until tender (about 12 minutes) or until the water boils. Then add about two cups of milk (or herbal drink), sweeten with natural sugar to taste and cook slowly for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture is creamy.
