Since time immemorial, black elderberry has been a popular plant used in folk medicine. Its importance is also evidenced by the old Czech proverb: "Shrug before chamomile, kneel before elderberry."
Black elderberry is often used to support the immune system and its natural defenses, especially in risky parts of the year.
The black elderberry fruit is used to make juices, liqueurs, they are boiled into jams or marmalades, and elderberry wine is also known. The fruit is typical of a dark reddish-purple color. Its source is dyes - valued anthocyanins. These substances can also be found, for example, in blueberries or maqui fruit. Elderberries are highly antioxidant.
The fruit must be collected when fully ripe, around September.

- weight control.
Preparation: Pour one teaspoon of dried fruit with boiling water and let it steep for 10 minutes. Drink 1–2 times a day.
