This green Yerba Mate comes from Brazil. It is flavored with lemongrass, verbena and mint, which makes its taste very refreshing with a hint of citrus. Mate is a popular invigorating drink in South America. It is the dried leaves of a tree called the Paraguayan holly. Its effects are attributed to a mixture of alkaloids, the most abundant of which is caffeine (referred to as mateine in relation to mate). Dried mate contains similar amounts of caffeine as coffee beans, but due to the method of consumption (repeated soaking), the effect of caffeine is more gradual than in coffee. This Mate is grown, processed and stored without harmful plant protection products and chemical fertilizers. We can prepare it as a hot drink in winter and as an invigorating and refreshing iced tea in summer.

For teas in general, ecological origin is very important. This is a food that we consume without rinsing, and all pesticide residues used in conventional cultivation remain in the tea and can pass into the infusion.
