Clearspring Japanese Hojicha Organic Loose Leaf Tea is a roasted green tea. It is grown in the rolling hills around Kyoto and Kyushu, areas known for their ideal climate and soil conditions that produce some of the finest teas in Japan. Hojicha's unique character comes from the careful ripening and roasting of the green tea leaves. This gives it a distinctive nutty aroma and smoky flavour. The roasting process helps reduce the caffeine, making it much lower than that found in coffee, black tea and sencha green tea. While it can be enjoyed at any time of day, it is perfect after a meal or as a soothing evening tea to help you unwind. It is worth noting that most common tea varieties come from the same plant - Camellia Sinensis.
