Indica is a long-grain rice variety and is fluffy and loose when cooked, with firm and fragrant grains. It is mainly used as a side dish and as a base for fried rice with vegetables or meat. This type of rice is sometimes mistakenly referred to as basmati rice, but it is not true basmati rice. However, the use is similar.
Basic preparation: Rinse two cups of rice in cold water and add less than two cups of cold water and salt and cook slowly until soft (approx. 35 minutes).
