Product detailed description

Thickener suitable for gluten-free diets. Usage: Mix a teaspoon of xanthan gum in 100ml of hot water and add to the dough. Xanthan is used to thicken and stabilize water-based products, such as dairy products, dressings, sauces, instant soups, syrups and bakery products. In ice cream, it prevents the formation of ice crystals. It is also often found in low-fat products, where it replaces the thickening function of fat. Xanthan is also used in cosmetics, where it is added to cream or toothpaste, for example, where it functions as a stabilizer and binder for ingredients that would naturally separate. Xanthan gum does not contain gluten, so it is also used in gluten-free pastries, where it gives the dough the necessary "stickiness", which would otherwise be provided by gluten.
